The new version is a cloud/subscription, which I do not like, so I'm going to try this package. Can anyone give me a rough idea about the transition process - difficulty, what to look out for, etc.?

WEBAug 19, 2017 · In fact, the authors have stated this is not an alternative for AutoCAD applications, and they have never had the interest to implement DXF export format. As collaboration, I think it would work more as a workflow from FreeCAD to SH3D rather than the opposite. SH3D is always in need of furniture/elements libraries.

WEBApr 2, 2013 · True CAD software either use CSG (outdated) or boundary representation (B-Rep). All modern CAD software use B-Rep, and so does FreeCAD. OpenSCAD is popular in the 3D printing community, but it's a tool for programming-minded people - which I'm not. It can only export to .CSG (an open but non-standard file format) and .STL.

WEBJun 17, 2021 · The Freecad team must start providing support for ARM of platform. The surface pro x at that time only ran 32 bit programs. With windows 11 it can run 64 bit Intel code but freecad still won't run. However, it can run Linux programs with a gui now. The arm64 linux version can be installed with apt-get install freecad.
