The new version is a cloud/subscription, which I do not like, so I'm going to try this package. Can anyone give me a rough idea about the transition process - difficulty, what to look out for, etc.?

WEBDec 14, 2016 · Moreover, the STEP files produced are readable in FreeCAD, albeit without the 2D drawing file component. I don't suppose FreeCAD can edit and display that component?

WEBAug 22, 2014 · Cotations aren’t exported in GIS, they are kept only with georeferenced DXF. * Drawing all kind of land subdivision for government agencies. * Drawing transport networks maps. The FreeCAD Spatial Manager workbench would draw in 2D only for the beginning. That would make easier to export to a GIS software as well.

Hi, I have worked a bit with FreeCAD so understand the basics - and boy a lot has happened during the last 20 years. I am not a CAD pro and my last exposure to CAD was 20 years ago with Autocad. The Teigha file converter can be used in conjunction with FreeCAD but it works by converting dwg to dxf and will only work on a limited subset of dwg files, I had a few sample dwg files and almost none of them worked. WEBSep 15, 2016 · Export created drawing as SVG file and in Inkscape add whatever template you would like to add as "new layer". As for the location of current drawing templates available by default in FreeCAD look at Template Property for Page object.
