WEBThe mosses encompass several evolutionary lines: peat mosses (Sphagnopsida), valved mosses (Andreaeopsida), puzzle mosses (Takakiopsida) and "true" mosses (Bryopsida). Sometimes the hair-cap mosses (Polytrichopsida) are separated as an evolutionary line independent of the true mosses.
