$20 is a lot for a gallery (I’m grateful museums and galleries are free at home!) however it was a nice space with some interesting works, good aircon and free wifi plus of course the free sculpture… Full review by travellin_pixie

We only went to the Sculpture Garden....which was free and huge! Mostly modern-type art. The gardens are well-tended, paths are well marked and maintained. the Cafe du Monde is just a few steps aw… Full review by mtt1220

There is a restaurant in the park, but you should really take the streetcar back down Canal to get the best food. Mandina's is on Canal, and the food was great. Italian. But why not just ride the streetcar all the way back down Canal to eat at the palace cafe or get off on Baronne and eat at Domenica.

I would think that any of the newer hotels with high customer satisfaction ratings would be 'safe'. If you're coming from a long ways away and dont want to stay in NOLA, you could always stay on the north shore of the Ponchartrain, nice towns there, but a little drive back into NOLA again to see the attractions. I've never had any trouble staying in New Orleans if you just observe normal common sense and awareness of your surroundings.

Admission prices as of January 2017 : $12.00 adults $10.00 seniors (65+) & active military with ID $8.00 university students with ID $6.00 children (7-12) Children 6 and under are free. Wednesdays are FREE admission days for Louisiana residents, courtesy of The Helis Foundation. (May not include special exhibitions.) Teenagers (ages 13-19) receive free admission to NOMA through the end of 2017 thanks to The Helis Foundation!
