Tioga Road, Lee Vining is the route connecting on the high altitude of about 6700 feet high to Yosemite Valley/Park. It is in the state route 395 and tourists can enjoy the stunning vista points. Full review by Balasubramanian R

The Tioga Road is not dangerous at all as long as you take things slow, especially on the drive down to Lee Vining from the pass. It might be a bit scary for those with a true fear of heights, since there is a long drop-off along the right side of the road, but it's not overly narrow or curvy. Just be prepared for a fairly steep grade going down this section (only a few miles) and shift into a lower gear if needed so you won't need to use your brakes as much. The road on the west side of the pass does not have many drop-offs such as on the east side, but there are a few, so just take things slow and easy, pull over where you can if you need to let cars behind you pass, and enjoy the scenery. Olmstead Point, Tenaya Lake, Tuolumne Meadows, and other stops along the way will be well worth the trip.
i am planing to drive from monterey heading eat to Yosemite valley by the 11th of this november and wanted to visit all the spots mentioned for this area ( half dome/ tuolumne meadows/ the tioga pass and lee vining and mammoth lakes) so whats this road will have for us? will it sure be closed? what we should do before we start the road and whats the alternative?

The high pass roads are usually closed in November due to snow. Use the Big Oak flat entrance or the South entrance
We are planning to visit Yosemite in September, 2016. We are driving a Ford F150 with a small V8 from Lee Vining. I think the truck will be able to handle the grades but my wife is a little afraid of the steep drop offs near the edge of the road. Are there a lot of places where the cliffs are real close to the edge of the road? Are there pullouts to let people pass?
