New Prague is a city in Scott and Le Sueur counties in the state of Minnesota. The population was 8,162 at the 2020 census. The northern part of New Prague is part of the Metropolitan Council. New Prague was laid out in 1856, and named after Prague, the capital of Bohemia. The immigrants from Bohemia built the town of New Prague, and many of them identified as Czechs.
