Iran has warned it will ramp up its nuclear activities after the United Nations nuclear watchdog’s 35-member board of governors adopted a resolution Thursday declaring it in breach of its non-proliferation obligations.

The decision comes as officials say they believe that Israel is preparing to launch a military attack on Iran. Tehran condemned the vote.

Iran slammed the International Atomic Energy Agency’s vote as politically motivated. It comes as U.S.-Iran nuclear talks increasingly appear stalled.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened Iran with bombing if it does not reach a new nuclear deal. The next round of talks is due this week, with Trump saying negotiations would be held on Thursday while Tehran says they will take place on Sunday in Oman.

The State Department said it had "ordered the departure of non-emergency U.S. government personnel due to heightened regional tensions.”
