Apple revealed iOS 26 featuring Liquid Glass at WWDC 2025, but the lack of an AI killer feature left analysts questioning its competitive edge.
Apple announced Liquid Glass on Monday for all of its devices at WWDC 2025. Perhaps the most noticeable thing about it is that app icons, tab bars, and even the text magnifier you’ll see when you hover over words feel, well, liquid-y and glassy.
Monday, Apple unveiled new features coming to TVOS 26, the next version of its Apple TV operating system. They include the company's sleek new Liquid Glass design, and the ability to use the iPhone as a microphone in Apple Music.
“Apple’s new glassy UI (user interface) design literally hurts my eyes to look at,” vented a third. “The notifications are a literal eyesore. It’s the definition of form over function. This OS update is going to be the worst thing Apple has done since iOS 7. No joke.”
