Cheating by Norway team officials manipulating ski suits has shaken a national reputation for fair play and high-minded principles at their home Nordic world championships.

Ahead of a news conference on Thursday, ruling body FIS has announced adjustments to its equipment control policy in ski jumping and Nordic combined following the Norway cheating affair. Each athlete will be allowed to use one suit until the end of the 2024-25 World Cup season.

It was revealed in video secretly recorded from behind a curtain then sent by a whistleblower to international media. An FIS official said the illegal alterations were subsequently confirmed by tearing apart the seams of the crotch area on the ski suits in question.
