A Flagler County deputy used his vehicle to hit a man riding a bike after the fleeing bicyclist allegedly pulled out a gun.

A 38-year-old man faces charges after he pulled out a gun while being pursued by a deputy in Flagler County late Saturday evening, according to a news release.

Michael McDermott was arrested for assault or battery on a law enforcement officer, fleeing and eluding, resisting an officer with violence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Michael McDermott, who was armed with a gun, fled from a deputy, who used his vehicle to knock McDermott off his bicycle, the Sheriff's Office said.
