KL Rahul began his IPL journey at RCB in 2013 before reuniting with the team in 2016, the year they reached the final.

After being released from the Lucknow Super Giants, KL Rahul will head into the IPL 2025 mega auctions. Rahul revealed the team for which he has enjoyed playing the most between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants.

The LSG franchise finished 3rd in the 2022 and 2023 seasons under Rahul. But Lucknow could not make its way into the play-offs last season which might have added to the skipper’s non retention.

The previous season was disappointing for LSG as they failed to make the playoffs for the first time and finished with only seven wins from 14 matches. The season was further overshadowed by a highly publicized incident involving team owner Sanjiv Goenka and captain KL Rahul post the match against SRH, which LSG lost by 10 wickets.

Lucknow Super Giants released their captain KL Rahul ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auctions. Rahul led LSG in their first three seasons from 2022 onwards. The former LSG skipper has opened up on his time with the Lucknow franchise and his departure from the team.

Speaking ahead of the mega auction, KL Rahul said he is looking forward to playing for a franchise where is loved and cared for. Rahul opened up about his exit from Lucknow Super Giants and gave a pitch to potential buyers.
