Lilo & Stitch has been a box office hit so far, and fans wonder if the Disney movie will get a sequel now that it has become a hit.

The film opens with Stitch, an alien being exiled from his planet, crash landing into Earth on Hawaii. While Stitch is navigating his new-found planet, six-year-old Lilo (Maia Kealoha) explores the ocean all by herself. She has no friends and always causing chaos, with her schoolmates labelling her as "weird."

Heartfelt and silly — but worked better in animated form.

Step aside, Moana, Elsa and Simba. In recent years, Stitch has quietly become one of Disney’s most popular — and most merchandised — characters.
