The irony is that Disney already knows how to successfully adapt beloved properties. Marvel, which they bought in 2009, has shown them the way. They just refuse to apply those lessons to their own IP.
Disney, Hollywood’s Meh-gic Kingdom, has once again delivered another awful live-action remake of a well-loved cartoon. For more than a decade, the House of Mouse has been addicted to these robotic abominations.
When co-writers/directors Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders first brought Stitch into this world, it was an especially experimental time for the company following the much beloved Disney Renaissance. Movies like The Emperor’s New Groove, Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Treasure Planet also came out during this more eccentric and adventure-filled era.
