Marvel Rivals landed with a wide roster, boasting 33 heroes when it launched on December 5. Just over a month later, the hero shooter's received two additions to its lineup, thanks to the arrival of Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman with the advent of Season 1.

The next Marvel Rivals update is the mid-season update for season one, which introduces Human Torch and The Thing as playable characters. The update will also provide balance tweaks, new maps, and additional content, though full details have yet to be confirmed.

NetEase has confirmed Marvel Rivals will receive a new hero every month and a half, but won't be adding enforced roles. Speaking to Metro, game director Guangyun Chen was asked about the cadence of heroes joining the game.

NetEase Games will release a new playable hero every six weeks in Marvel Rivals. Also, a new season will be split into two parts every three months, with a new hero being released every half of a season.

NetEase Games is telling Marvel Rivals players that a new hero will launch every month and a half as additional seasons roll out. The studio’s creative director, Guangyun Chen, clarified the team’s post-launch plans during an interview with Metro.
