Tuesday’s shooting killed one and wounded two. It occurred about 6:30 p.m. on Ray Road between Lapeer and North Oxford roads, a 1-mile stretch of largely empty land flanked by the high school to the east and a shopping plaza to the west.

OXFORD, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - Police say three people are hospitalized after being shot on Christmas Eve in Oxford, Michigan.

A witness says the Oxford Christmas Eve shooting suspect fired on good Samaritans who stopped to help him on side of the road.

The shooting happened at around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 24, 2024, on Ray Road between Lapeer and N. Oxford roads. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found three people with gunshot wounds. They were all taken to hospitals to be treated for their injuries. One woman died from her injuries, a man was hurt and a woman remains gravely injured.

The Oakland Sheriff's Office confirmed Wednesday that one victim in a triple shooting on Christmas Eve near Oxford High School has died. Sheriff Mike Bouchard's office announced the update in a Facebook post Wednesday afternoon.

It's unclear if drugs or alcohol were a factor, but Bouchard added he believed the shooting to be premeditated because the suspect discharged more than 30 rounds from an extended magazine.
