BOSTON (AP) — A federal judge in Boston on Tuesday blocked the Trump administration’s plan to cut hundreds of millions of dollars for teacher training, finding that cuts are already affecting training programs aimed at addressing a nationwide teacher shortage.

A U.S. District Court Judge has temporarily blocked the Trump administration's attempt to cancel an estimated $250 million in teacher-training grants across the country, including a significant cut affecting students preparing to staff high-need California schools.

Attorneys general from the affected states are suing the Education Department for cutting millions in funding for teacher pipeline programs.
