Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa was convicted by a jury of 10 counts of murder at a Colorado supermarket. His defense team had argued he was mentally ill.

The jury found Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa guilty of shooting and killing 10 people at the South Table Mesa King Soopers on March 22, 2021, in addition to guilty verdicts on dozens of other counts of attempted murder.

The jury trial hinged not on whether Ahmad Al Alissa opened fire but whether the mentally ill man understood the difference between right and wrong.
