Sectional championship weekend for football is one of the most exciting times on New Jersey’s entire athletic calendar, and as usual, teams from the South Jersey Times coverage area have a chance to make a significant impact.

One new team joined the New Jersey Super 25 rankings after the second week of the high school football playoffs. Union City joins the rankings for the first time this season, replacing West Morris, which was upended by West Essex in North 2, Group 3.

The USA TODAY Sports Super 25 high school football rankings move along to the postseason rush of November, where teams will look to earn divisional and state bragging rights across the country while impacting the national list.
