Arizona made the first recruiting splash of the New Year when Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon's Bryce James, the son of NBA legend LeBron James and younger brother of current Lakers rookie Bronny James, committed to the Wildcats on Wednesday.

Bryce James, the 17-year-old son of NBA legend LeBron James, announced Jan. 1 that he has committed to join the University of Arizona basketball team, extending his family’s impact on the sport.

His oldest son, Bronny James, played a single season of college basketball. He played for the USC Trojans last year. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to show everything that he could do because of a cardiac arrest event he suffered in the summer before his freshman season.
