One of the most popular signs of the holidays in New York City is no more. Saks will not put on its typical light show on the building’s Fifth Avenue façade this holiday season, the company confirmed Monday to NBC New York.

Dazzling displays of synchronized lights on the facade of Saks Fifth Avenue’s flagship store in midtown Manhattan have thrilled holiday visitors for years.

The Walk is in addition to a 5K Run on Sunday, Nov. 24, at 6 a.m. along the Lights on the Lake route. Registration is $35 per runner, who will also receive a 2024 Lights on the Lake beanie and other swag; top finishers in each age group will receive a 2024 Lights on the Lake 5K ornament.

For years, the department store has lit up the facade of its flagship store in Midtown Manhattan.

Saks Fifth Avenue says the flagship store in New York City will not be hosting its annual holiday light show this year.According to a statement, a spokesperson said the light show will not happen due to "changes in its approach to the holiday windows" for the flagship's 100th anniversary.

The company said this year they want to do things differently, focusing on the "architectural significance" of the Fifth Avenue building
