Officials with the American Red Cross are encouraging people to donate blood as the country continues to deal with a national shortage. The organization held a mass blood drive on Tuesday in the Jackson metro area in order to increase donations.

The American Red Cross is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the hit sitcom, “Friends.” According to the American Red Cross, donors who give blood, platelets, or plasma from Nov. 18 through Dec. 8 will receive two pairs of custom FRIENDS and American Red Cross socks.
