This has been a big week for the BYU women's volleyball team as NCAA tournament play is beginning and many players have earned themselves some Big 12 awards.

For a dozen years, the BYU women’s volleyball team advanced in the NCAA Tournament like clockwork. Suddenly, the Cougars can’t get out of the first round. For the second straight season BYU — from a conference (the Big 12) that put ten teams into the NCAA’s — lost to a program from a non-power conference.

University of La Verne junior Mya Ray, who also starred at Diamond Ranch High School, has been the catalyst for the Leopards women’s volleyball team that will play for the NCAA Division III national championship on Saturday.
