The National Weather Service is forecasting hot and unseasonably warm temperatures for inland areas of San Diego County, continuing into early next week.

An excessive heat warning will be in effect through 8 p.m. Thursday for areas of San Diego County east of Interstate 15 as unseasonably warm weather spreads across most of California, the National Weather Service said.

San Diego is experiencing a heatwave, with an Excessive Heat Warning issued by the NWS. Temperatures could reach 111 degrees in deserts. Coastal fog affects visibility but will not diminish the high inland temperatures expected throughout the week.
