John Bolton told a journalist he thought President Donald Trump was running "a retribution presidency" which had already "come after me" just days before the FBI raided his Maryland home on Friday.

Today's FBI raid of John Bolton's home is an unedifying, very public demonstration of the largely unchecked power Trump has been allowed to accumulate.

In a post on social media, FBI Director Kash Patel wrote that agents were “on mission,” but it was unclear if he was referring to the search.
