Days after Helene made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region as a Category 4 hurricane, more than 3 million customers remain without power. At least 65 deaths have been confirmed as a result of the storm, at least a third of whom were killed by falling trees.

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell called the storm "a true multi-state event" that's had "significant impacts" across five states.

The storm caused massive power outages, prompting search and rescue deployments as many flooded-out residents are left without power or food.
