Two sanitation workers who were on the picket line in the ongoing District Council 33 union strike were hit by a vehicle in Philadelphia's Port Richmond section.

Trash piled up in parts of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Thursday (July 3) as thousands of city workers continued to go on strike.

A strike by nearly 10,000 city workers in Philadelphia has stretched into a third day. Trash continued to pile up Thursday in some areas, and a judge ordered more than 30 Medical Examiner’s Office staffers back to work because of a growing backlog of bodies in storage.
