The National Weather Service said reported readings as low as minus 27 Tuesday as an Arctic air mass spread across Michigan.

The Marquette NWS office said wind chills in some areas could reach 44 below zero early in the week and residents should prepare.

With arctic air still spilling into West Michigan, the lake-effect snow has piled up across the area. Here are some of the snow reports so far.

WEST MICHIGAN - Travel conditions are expected to deteriorate quickly along the Lakeshore today as snow and gusty conditions intensify.
