Just one day after the Celtics traded Jaden Springer to the Houston Rockets, the 22-year-old guard will need to find a new home. Multiple reports indicate that the Rockets have elected to waive Springer after officially completing the trade with Boston on Thursday morning.

In a deadline deal, the Rockets acquired Celtics prospect Jaden Springer and a future second-round draft pick. Boston’s motivation was cash savings.

The Houston Rockets head to TD Garden to face the Boston Celtics in a non-conference matchup. The Rockets are 29-14, which puts them in second place in the Western Conference. The Celtics are 31-14, which puts them in second place in the Eastern Conference.
