Once again, Josh McDaniels will fill the New England Patriots offensive coordinator position. As expected, the team is hiring McDaniels after speaking with him Tuesday, according to CBS Sports lead NFL insider Jonathan Jones. The Patriots made the move official on Wednesday.

New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel has filled out his staff, hiring longtime Bill Belichick assistant Josh McDaniels as offensive coordinator.

Josh McDaniels is reportedly returning to the New England Patriots for a third stint as offensive coordinator. NFL insider Kirk Minihane reported the news everyone expected to come at some point, even though coach Mike Vrabel said he’d consider multiple candidates for the job.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen was one of the top targets in the Jacksonville Jaguars head coaching search, but Coen has removed his name from consideration for the position and will remain with the Bucs on a new contract, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Schottenheimer is the first known internal candidate to interview for the head coaching job. The 51-year-old Schottenheimer, son of the late NFL coach Marty Schottenheimer, joined the Dallas staff as a consultant in 2022 and held the offensive coordinator title the past two seasons while McCarthy was the play-caller.
