A major emergency services response to a gas explosion was witnessed by residents at 379 Bedford Park Boulevard between Decatur Avenue and Webster Avenue in Bedford Park on Sunday, Sept. 22.
FDNY, Con Edison crews repair ruptured gas main in Bedford Park section of the Bronx
Officials started responding around 9:40 a.m. after reports of gas odors and fumes on Bedford Park Boulevard between Decatur Avenue and Webster Avenue.
Gas main rupture in the Bronx injures five: FDNY
Residents were woken up by the smell of gas which they said extended miles away. The Fire Department confirmed that five people were injured, all minor injuries. Two refused medical attention, while the rest were taken to Montefiore Medical Center.
