With one week to go in the 2024 regular season, the Bears are preparing to make major offseason moves. Does that include GM Ryan Poles?

If Chicago Bears GM Ryan Poles remains in his post, his job will include learning from mistakes to build a coaching staff and roster that are better equipped to elevate Caleb Williams in 2025.

There’s nobody else to blame. Some Bears fans have begun to question whether third-year general manager Ryan Poles is the right man for the job. The Bears fired coach Matt Eberflus in November.

The Bears are 6.5-point underdogs at home against the Lions. There’s literally a movie called “Any Given Sunday” to highlight the chance that any team can win on any day in this league, but the Bears are 3-15 since the start of the 2022 season when they were underdogs of at least 6 points.

The book on the 2024 Bears was written long before they took the field against the Seahawks. Quarterback Caleb Williams has work to do this offseason, and general manager Ryan Poles needs four starters on the offensive line, three on the defensive line and reinforcements at running back and safety.

When introducing Thomas Brown as the team's interim head coach, team president Kevin Warren emphatically stood behind Poles and said that he will remain the team's GM and will be part of leading the search for the team's next coach. Warren is not the only one to give Poles a vote of confidence, as wide receiver DJ Moore did the same on Monday.
