Red Bull’s Max Verstappen will start Sunday’s Brazilian Grand Prix from the 17th position as he fights McLaren’s Lando Norris for the Formula One drivers’ championship.

Lando Norris said he made too many mistakes and blamed bad luck for his failure to win from pole position on Sunday as Max Verstappen stormed to a sensational victory in the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Lando Norris admitted he was “not proud” of the way he won Saturday’s sprint race in Brazil after McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri pulled aside with a few laps remaining to gift him the victory. But the Briton added that the team had done “what we had to do”.
