Brandon Nimmo began the season slowly, but over the last two months has been virtually a slump-proof entity for the Mets.

The Mets finished off a sweep of the Giants 5-3 behind a big day by Ronny Mauricio. Mauricio went 4-for4 with two RBIs, but his big blow in the seventh into McCovey Cove tied the game at three apiece. Juan Soto followed with a solo shot of his own two batters later for the go-ahead run.

SAN FRANCISCO — It’s not too often you hear about a 10-year veteran maturing, but last year, mired in a brutal July in which he batted .188, Brandon Nimmo figured something needed to change. Or rather, maybe things needed to go back to where they were.

Brandon Nimmo credits a mindset shift for his 2025 resurgence as the New York Mets chase their first NL East division title in a decade.

Nimmo went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 8-1 win over the Giants.
