Terhune has been at the helm of SAIF since July 2021, leading the Oregon-based workers’ compensation insurance provider, which employs approximately 1,200 people and manages $5 billion in capital.

The shooting happened around 4 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, at the Lake Oswego home of SAIF CEO Chip Terhune. SAIF is the not-for-profit company that provides workers compensation insurance in Oregon.

Mangione faces multiple charges, including murder, and has pleaded not guilty. Terhune became SAIF’s president and CEO in July 2021.
