Legacy automakers are experiencing a sort of existential crisis as they grapple with whether to stick to plans to go all-electric or hedge with hybrids.

Leading RV manufacturer THOR Industries and electric vehicle company Harbinger have teamed up to create the world's first class A hybrid RV with a 500 mile driving range.

Set to go on sale next year, the unassuming RV packs the same tech inside as the upcoming Ram 1500 Ramcharger–a series hybrid setup that combines an electric motor, a battery pack and a combustion engine that has no mechanical connection to the drivetrain.

THO partners with Harbinger to bring the world's first hybrid Class A motorhome, the THOR Test Vehicle, to market in 2025.
