“The University of North Carolina system has done much to silence Larry Chavis. He has been denied promotions he earned, he is paid less than rookie professors fresh off a PH.D, and his classes were secretly recorded,” attorney Artur Davis said in the press release. “When the suppression didn’t work, they finally fired him.”

Larry Chavis, who taught at the business school since 2006, alleges retaliation for “challenging UNC’s lack of faculty diversity."

A professor suspended for making comments deemed racially offensive has claimed she was targeted for expressing “anti-woke” opinions.

The school says its suspension at half-pay and other sanctions on Amy Wax is over her comments about race in recent years. She will also lose her named chair and summer pay.
