The park has not filed at notice with the state that the ride is shutting down, Lisa Ryan, a spokesperson for the state Department of Community Affairs, told NJ Advance Media. Theme parks are not required to submit notice of closure, they would just let the permit lapse if not opening the ride for the next season, she said.

Six Flags Great Adventure hasn’t said anything about Kingda Ka’s future, but coaster enthusiasts claim ride is coming down.
