Traffic has been halted on the M4 following a crash that has left debris strewn across the carriageway this afternoon, Wednesday, September 25. There is also slow traffic on the southbound carriageway heading towards Bristol. Traffic was first held at 11.40am this morning. It is the second time today, Monday, September 23, that M5 traffic has been held between junctions 11 and 12.

Google Maps is showing very slow traffic in that area. Road and traffic monitoring site Inrix first reported the crash at 8.06am. All lanes have reopened but residual delays remain. It said: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident on M5 southbound from J11A A417 (Gloucester / Cirencester ) to J12 A430 ( Quedgeley / Hardwicke ).
