In a major shift, former U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a new directive reversing President Joe Biden's softer approach toward Cuba. The decision marks the return of strict U.S. policy, reintroducing economic and travel restrictions that had been previously eased.

The directive will enforce a statutory ban on U.S. tourism to Cuba while supporting an economic embargo of the country, the White House said.
