Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said Wednesday that he “needed some time to regroup” after losing in overtime Monday night to the Sacramento Kings.

Now, the Mavericks are experiencing some more collateral damage. They have lost a key assistant coach as a part of the fallout from the trade, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

Following the Mavs' loss, however, Kidd surprised fans and reporters alike when he decided not to do his postgame presser. Insider Tim Cato reported the move and mentioned that he has "never before seen this" in his 13 years covering the game.
