Tennessee floods: 54 people stranded on Unicoi County Hospital roof rescued as water rose

Unicoi County flooding confirmed fatal, more than 30 missing
WYCB reports that people died in the flooding in Unicoi County but did not confirm how many. This is according to Unicoi County Emergency Management Director and Incident Commander Jim Erwin. In a Saturday afternoon press conference, Erwin also said an estimated 33 people are missing.

UNICOI COUNTY, Tenn. — There has been deadly flooding in Unicoi County, according to Emergency Management Agency Director Jimmy Erwin. Erwin said at a news conference on Saturday that around three dozen people are missing. Erwin did not say how many people have died, but that more information is expected to be released Sunday.
