If you’ve been watching and/or reading closely, you may have noticed a hint or two that the release of Raiders defensive tackle Christian Wilkins may have related to something other than a dispute over his lingering foot injury.
One of the big offseason mysteries for the Las Vegas Raiders has been the injury status of defensive tackle Christian Wilkins. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Raiders have decided to cut Wilkins outright.
Wilkins was mysteriously released by the Raiders on Thursday, which the team attributed to the way he was treating the rehab for a foot injury that kept him sidelined for most of last season. Las Vegas cut ties just one season into his five-year, $110 million pact.
Las Vegas Raiders coach Pete Carroll said the team didn't rush its decision to release defensive tackle Christian Wilkins.
