Meta is to start displaying eBay listings in its own Facebook Marketplace platform, in an effort to appease European regulators.

The social media giant will let some users browse eBay listings on its Facebook Marketplace platform after the EU ruled that the link between its classified-ads service and flagship social network undermined competition.

EBay stock jumped on news that Meta will show listings from eBay on Facebook Marketplace in the U.S., Germany and France.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, announced a series of significant changes this week, signaling a shift in its approach to both e-commerce and content moderation.

Shares of e-commerce company eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) are trading higher on Wednesday after Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:META) said it is rolling out a new test that will integrate listings from eBay directly on Facebook Marketplace.

Meta has announced plans to launch a pilot project in Germany, France, and the US. This will enable users to browse eBay listings on Facebook Marketplace, with transactions being completed on eBay's platform.
