Less than 24 hours after the New England Patriots season came to a close and the subsequent firing of first-year head coach Jerod Mayo, owner Robert Kraft met with the media to address his decision to move his club in a different direction.

FOXBORO — Robert Kraft stepped up to the podium and took accountability for Jerod Mayo’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it tenure as Patriots head coach that lasted just under one year.

The former Patriots coach opted not to take a victory lap during his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Monday.
