The Laguna fire broke out about 9:40 a.m. Thursday and was burning near Camarillo and the campus of Cal State Channel Islands. The fire had burned nearly 94 acres and was 70% contained by Thursday night.

Update by the edhat staff As of 11:30 a.m. Thursday, the forward progress of the Lguna Fire has been halted at approximately 50 acres, according to the Ventura County Fire Department. All evacuation orders have been downgraded to warnings.

The Laguna fire is burning near Camarillo and the campus of Cal State Channel Islands. Firefighters and water-dropping helicopters are on scene near Laguna Road and Hueneme Road. Several acres have burned. California State University Channel Islands and University Glen.
