Image via Shutterstock It's been almost a week since a teen couple vanished while spending an evening at a Hawaii beach. The couple had gone swimming at Oahu's North Shore when they went missing.

Honolulu Police said the discovery was made before 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, and comes one day after multiple agencies suspended their search and announced human remains had been found Saturday, Jan.

Although the Coast Guard has suspended its search efforts, the Honolulu Police Department is taking it on as a missing persons investigation.

After the recent discovery of possible human remains being found at Ehukai Beach, the Medical Examiner’s Office (ME) confirmed that they are not human remains.
