St. Pete Beach Fire Rescue was dispatched around noon on July 4 for a possible lightning strike on the beach near 4700 Gulf Blvd., according to fire rescue officials. Emergency personnel found a family of three who appeared to be struck by lightning while under an umbrella at the beach, officials said.
