The U.S. Marshal K-9 shot during a manhunt on Wednesday was released from the animal hospital Friday. He narrowly escaped death and is credited with saving lives. Rocky was shot twice, through the nostril and the neck.

He's on the mend! Just two days after being shot twice by a suspect hiding in a dumpster, federal K-9 officer Rocky is back with his handler and will soon be back on the job.

One of the veterinarians treating the heroic K-9 said he's eating and moving around and should make a full recovery and be able to return to duty.
