Hundreds of millions of Chinese criss-cross the country during the Lunar New Year holidays each year to reunite with families back in their hometowns or for sight-seeing during an extended festive period,

Nearly 120 million people are expected to be returning home after the holidays. Meanwhile, winter weather and storms are complicating travel. Nationwide, there were more than 7,000 delays. Kerri Corrado has more on the travel rush from Newark Liberty International Airport.

China's 2025 Spring Festival travel rush began on Tuesday, as people traveled home or went on trips for the Lunar New Year holiday. The country’s railway network is expected to transport 510 million passengers during the travel rush,

China kicked off its 40-day Spring Festival travel rush on Tuesday (January 14), and authorities expect an increase in journeys this year, estimating a record 9 billion domestic trips will be made. Francis Maguire reports.
