How much did your salvage yard LS1/T56 cost? - HybridZ
Jan 23, 2011 · On the other side of the coin, it looks like you can buy a brand new complete LS1 crate engine from Summit for about $5800. A brand new T56 transmission from Summit seems to run around $2800. I would interested to hear how much those of you with a Gen III/IV swap payed for your engine (and/or transmission) if it came out of a salvage yard.

Oct 16, 2010 · A chevy high performance magazine article on his LT1 engine builds states that part of the thing to create a bullet proof bottom end on an LT1, which had a common problem to spin rod bearings, was to increase the clearance from .0015 to .0025-.0030 and run 20w-50 instead of 5w-30. Anyway, that's where I'm at.

Oct 26, 2015 · Either will work but I personally prefer the simper 2-way valve. It stops flow when no heat is required rather than redirecting the flow back the the engine. The stock Z valve is a 2-way valve. That is the valve I'm using with the heating system in my LS1 280Z. Works just like it did with the L28 in the car.

Posted November 4, 2009. A quick search over on LS1tech.com revealed the following; 1) Crank is 10mm shorter at the snout. 2) Crank is 3 mm shorter on the flywheel end. 3) Bell housing bolt pattern is the GM Corporate FWD bolt pattern, not the RWD SBC or LSx bolt pattern so you wont be able to bolt up a T-56, etc.

PCM and wiring harness are different, and the fuel pump lines/sender are different.
